Launch and fame
Mayada Al-Hanawi gained fame after her songs were released via cassette and video songs were broadcast on television. She performed her concerts in many Arab countries accompanied by the Al-Fajr band led by Maestro Amin Al-Khayyat. Her concerts and songs were broadcast and shown on all Arab stations, and the tunes were sent to her on cassette tape. From the composer and major Arab and Egyptian composers, Mayada rehearses and records it in Damascus. When the preparations were completed, she, the composer, and the entire team of musicians traveled to record in Greece, where she was accompanied by the artist producer Mohsen Jaber, and Mayada became the most famous singer of her time.
Mayada and the giants of composers
During this period, Mayada dealt with major composers in Egypt, led by the great artist Mohamed Al-Moji, with whom she released her first songs, which angered the musician Mohamed Abdel-Wahab and made him withdraw the song “On a Day and a Night” from her to go to the artist Warda. Mayada also dealt with the geniuses Mohamed Sultan and Helmy Bakr, but Her major breakthrough was with musician Baligh Hamdi. As for the song Blessing of Forgetting, it was composed by the artist, accordionist Farouk Salama, who used to play in the band of Umm Kulthum and Abdel Halim Hafez, who is the brother of the composer Gamal Salama.
Mayada sang with Baligh Hamdi her most wonderful traditional songs, such as “I adore you” – “Love is there” – “What should I do” – “Sir Ana” “Not Awaydak” “It’s Been a Year” and other wonderful songs that achieved great popularity in the Arab world and among others.
